So you’ve booked your dream venue in Suffolk and within the package you chose, it comes with a wedding venue coordinator hurrah! That’s fab news, I don’t need to hire a wedding planner now, or do I? What is the difference between a Wedding Planner and a Venue Coordinator?
Venue Coordinator
Venue coordinators are great and brilliant at what they do, they know their venue impeccably. They can take care of certain aspects of your day perfectly. Like your catering and any other services that are offered on-site.
But they work for the venue, so their main priority will be the venue, not you. When they leave for home of an evening there work is done for the day. They will have many brides using their facility so you may be waiting for replies to your calls and emails.
Wedding Planner
A wedding planner however, solely works alongside you and your partner from the beginning of your wedding planning journey. Everything organised and supplied is with your best interests at heart. They are contactable 24 hours a day and deal with every aspect of your wedding day, not just your reception.
You will be one of only a few brides that year so you will have the wedding planners full attention throughout planning, from saying yes to helping send out thanks yous after your honeymoon, (if needed).
Wedding planners organise all your wedmin, including the budget, the timeline and guest list. They hand pick the best suppliers on their recommended list for your wedding, who haven’t paid to be there. On the day, they will ensure your timeline runs smoothly and any problems that arise will be sorted quickly without you even realising.
Venue coordinators do provide a timeline for the day, but it is focused on the caterers and when the food will be prepared and served.
What is the difference between a Wedding Planner and a Venue Coordinator?
The biggest difference between us is a wedding planner gets to know you both from the start and knows your vision for the day. So logistically designs your entire wedding day, from the type of flowers at your ceremony, to the colour of the table linen. A venue coordinator does not.
Therefore please bear this in mind when booking your venue and they advertise that you will receive a wedding coordinator for your day, included in your package. This doesn’t mean you will have a wedding planner organising your wedding. They don’t even have to be there on the day if everything is set up.
So eat the cake, drink the wine… hire the wedding planner!
Come with me, to find your perfect package that I can offer, for your wedding planning journey.
